About

Hi!

My real name’s Francesca, although you can simply call me Fralus.
I was born in Italy around 30 years ago and I work in a digital marketing company while I enjoy my spare time illustrating and drawing webcomics (besides being a huge fan of everything related to the Eighties, especially music!).
I’ve always loved drawing and colouring since I was a child.

When I grow up I want to become a painter” – I used to say when I wasn’t even able to lace my shoes. However I didn’t actually use the word “painter”; I’d rather use the word “pitturessa”, which is a funny way to mispell painter in Italian.

At school my Art teacher used to call me “naive” and she was true, damn!
I never took any course in comic strips – which is my favourite art… the 9th Art, as they call it.

Economics and Marketing became my focus at the university where I got involved in students marketing projects and bumped into creative strategies to sell out products.

I’ve worked as a travel assistant, translator, ghost writer and English teacher.
As a freelance ghost-writer I co-wrote 20 books as part of the business English series “Speak Now! for Work” by John Peter Sloan in 2011.

The best and most inspirational cultural boost in my life came when I moved to the UK for work. Not a single day I did spend without learning how traveling is crucial to understand and share diversities.
Cultural shocks included!

I’ve lived and worked near Birmingham for almost 4 years, dealing with many aspects of British daily life, red tape and healthcare (including a 5-day stay at the hospital…).

In October 2017 I launched Fralus’ Facebook page and 4 months later Fralus website came to life!
